Carolina Handling, one of the Southeast’s leading intralogistics solution providers, has further widened its broad portfolio of technologies and services by the recent naming of Modula as a supplier partner.
“Modula provides a great complement to our existing offerings and shares our commitment to a strong reputation for service,” said Joe Perkins, executive vice president, Operations for Carolina Handling.
“Modula is proud to announce our partnership with Carolina Handling,” said Rick Havener, Director of Sales – Modula Inc. “They will join our team as an authorized Modula Dealer for North Carolina. With over 50 years of experience, Carolina Handling brings their expertise in warehouse automation and exceptional customer satisfaction to the Modula family. Our Made in the USA solutions and trustworthy company brand rely on a strong dealership network, and we are confident in Carolina Handling’s ability to well serve our customers.”
Modula automated storage and retrieval solutions are designed to optimize space and improve picking and storage operations for any industrial sector or environment. The vertical lift module (VLM) line maximizes the storage potential of high-ceiling facilities, securing items in enclosed units up to 54 feet tall. The horizontal carousels are ideal for low-ceiling environments, as well as those seeking maximum throughput.
Following the parts-to-pickers principle, these two automated warehouse storage solutions deliver the items directly to the operator. This reduces handling times both in picking and replenishing. There’s no walking back and forth to find and retrieve goods. Thanks to the visual picking aids, the user can quickly identify which item should be picked and the quantity requested. This allows high picking rates as well as dramatically improved accuracy.
Both storage solutions can be easily integrated into any existing ERP, MRP, WMS and DMS systems thanks to Modula’s Warehouse Management System (WMS) – a full suite of inventory management software that provides an accurate and continuous exchange of information, making processes, such as receiving, picking, and putting away products, faster and more accurate.
Moreover, both products are made in the United States allowing for speedier shipping times and quicker installation times for our North American customers.
Carolina Handling was named as one of Business North Carolina’s Top 125 Private Companies in September rel="noopener noreferrer" 2020 and recipient of a Material Handling Equipment Distributors Association “MVP” award as one of the industry’s premier providers for 2021.
Founded in 1966, the Charlotte-headquartered company operates centers in Greensboro, Raleigh and Charlotte, N.C., with additional centers in Atlanta, Birmingham and Greenville, S.C., and its Equipment Distribution Center in Piedmont, S.C.
