CHARLOTTE, N.C. (December 22, 2020) – Carolina Handling, LLC has joined with the United States Marine Reserve to help distribute more than 517 toys collected from its associates in support of the “Toys for Tots” program.
Started by the Marine Reserve in 1947, the program provides toys to children whose parents may not be able to buy them gifts for Christmas.
“This has been a very difficult year for many people,” said Brent Hillabrand, president and CEO of Carolina Handling. “Our company culture is based on serving our associates, our customers and our communities, and Toys for Tots is an example of serving the community.”
“In just the first three days of our virtual ‘12 Days of Giving’ program, we had already collected more than 300 toys, and 90 associates had signed up to do payroll deductions to support Toys for Tots,” said Donna Waldrep, director of marketing for Carolina Handling.
Founded in 1966, the Charlotte-headquartered company operates centers in Greensboro, Raleigh and Charlotte, N.C., with additional centers in Atlanta, Birmingham and Greenville, S.C., and its Equipment Distribution Center in Piedmont, S.C.
The Charlotte-headquartered company was named as one of Business North Carolina’s Top 125 Private Companies earlier this year. Additionally, the company received an MVP (Most Valuable Partner) Award for 2021 from MHEDA (Material Handling Equipment Distributors Association).
